I am going to unravel my stress at Catheys Creek Falls near Brevard. Up to 8 ppl are welcome to join me. I will spend a couple hours at the falls eating, reading and pretending to meditate.
THIS IS ALSO Minor TRASH CLEAN-UP PROJECT
Hike Details:
Length: 100 ft; Total ascent: 100 ft; steep, challenging footing.
Drive time: 25 min/10 mi 1-way; High clearance vehicle reqr’d.
Apprx return time: 2:30 pm
Carpool contributions appreciated. $1.00 suggested
We suggest masks and open windows while carpooling. Only you know your own health status so judge accordingly if an event may endanger your health.
Weather Check: Brevard, NC
Please bring an extra pair of shoes to avoid bringing your muddy shoes into the driver's car at the end of the hike.
Incessant prattlers will be assumed to be having an affair. Obstreperous raucous yawping is discouraged.
THIS IS A DOG-PARTICIPANT HIKE. This event is NOT for those who are uncomfortable with the antics of fun-loving dogs.
Well trained dogs (you don’t have to yell.) can be 'off-leash'. 'On leash' during the lunch stop.

Remember - hikes led by ‘the Curmudgeon’ tend to have challenging surprises.
Access is down a short but VERY steep bank with challenging footing. DEEP WATER XING REQR’D.

Catheys Creek Falls is a nice 50' series of cascading falls.
OPTIONAL: I will attempt to find an off-trail route to Catheys Crag. This will be a deep, rocky stream Xing plus finding a way thru a rhodie grove up a steep slope.
We will spend up to 2 hrs at the Falls. Come prepared to meditate, practice your Tai-Chi, 森林浴, read a book, prepare a meal, play a flute.
