Worlds Edge Tr; a challenge.
Details
We are the Sloth Hiking Group: “We will get there when we get there.” We dare to go where the ‘real’ hike groups don’t !!

I am going to scout, trim and assess the cliff edge of the World’s Edge Tr near Edneyville; Up to 8 (only) of you are welcome to join me.
Length: 2.0 miles round-trip; accum ascent: 300 feet, most on the return hike on rocky forest rd.
Pace: 1.5mph – because I’m an ol’ Codger.
Difficulty: “off-trail conditions”. Some very challenging footing along unfenced cliff edge; plus 'cliff edge' overlooks. A few steep challenging footing sections. Middle ¼ mile will be ‘off-trail’ thru brush.
IF YOU HAVE AN ORANGE VEST; WEAR IT. HUNTING SEASON HAS STARTED. ;-) THEY ARE INEXPENSIVE AT WALMART....
Bring cutting snips and folding handsaws if you have them.
Drive time: 20 min 1-way
Google maps= “Ottanola Gap”
Carpool contributions appreciated. $2.00 suggested
Apprx return time: 3:00pm
I currently have 2 driver. (limit 8)
Weather Check: Edneyville, NC
Weather cancellations will be posted at 6:30am.
Optional: after the hike, Dine at Kin’s Chinese Kitchen. 2560 Chimney Rock Rd
We suggest masks and open windows while carpooling. Only you know your own health status so judge accordingly if an event may endanger your health or the health of others.
Please bring an extra pair of shoes to avoid bringing your muddy shoes into the driver's car at the end of the hike.
Incessant prattlers will be assumed to be having an affair. My attempts to quiet the prattlers has failed. This has become a ‘social networking’ event.
Dogs: ONLY well-trained dogs because of the unfenced cliff edge. And leashes will tangle in the brush.
DESCRIPTION;
Remember - hikes led by ‘the Curmudgeon’ tend to have challenging surprises.
