We are the Sloth Hiking Group: “We will get there when we get there.” We dare to go where the ‘real’ hike groups don’t !!

I am going to Cove Creek Falls; Up to 12 ppl are welcome to join me.
Hike Distance: 2.2mi Accum ascent: 350ft
Pace: 1.5mph – because I’m an ol’ Codger.
Difficulty: One wet stream Xing in the beginning.
Close to the falls is roots & rocks and short VERY STEEP dirt ascents. The base of the falls requires ‘wading’ to get the full view.
Short lunch break at the falls.
Drive time: 20min 1-way
Apprx return time: 1:30 PM (=3.5 hrs)
Carpool contributions appreciated. $1.00 suggested
Weather Check: Brevard.
Weather cancellations will be posted at 6:30am.
WAITLISTED PEOPLE WILL BE ADDED AS DRIVERS SIGN ON.
I currently have 3 driver(s) (=15ppl)
We suggest open windows while carpooling. Only you know your own health status so judge accordingly if an event may endanger your health or the health of others.
Please bring an extra pair of shoes to avoid bringing your muddy shoes into the driver's car at the end of the hike.
Incessant prattlers will be assumed to be having an affair. My attempts to quiet the prattlers has failed. This has become a ‘social networking’ event.
If you have an orange vest; wear it. Hunting season has started. ;-) They are inexpensive at WalMart....
This event is NOT for beginners or those with health or balance issues.
THIS IS A DOG-PARTICIPANT HIKE. This event is NOT for those who are uncomfortable with the antics of fun-loving dogs. Well trained dogs (you don’t have to yell) can be 'off-leash'. 'On leash' during the lunch stop. Dogs (and Masters) required to be ‘on-leash'. Small (lap)dogs may carpool. Large dogs will drive themselves.
DESCRIPTION;
Remember - hikes led by ‘the Curmudgeon’ tend to have challenging surprises.
Wood elves are mischievous in the Spring; Zip your backpacks tight.
Cove Crk water slide also included.
Beautiful Pisgah scenery and lush woods abound, and travels through some nice flats above the Davidson River valley at the base of the Pisgah Ridge.
All hikes are at your own risk. You are responsible for your OWN safety and adequate equipment.
Waiver: There are certain risks inherent in any outdoor activity.
