Upper Big Hungry River Tr; a Challenge

We are the Sloth Hiking Group: “We will get there when we get there.” We dare to go where the ‘real’ hike groups don’t !!

I am going to explore the Big Hungry River Tr UPSTREAM from the bridge and past the Helene-destroyed dam; Up to 8 ppl are welcome to join me.
Distance: 2.25 mile RT; Accum ascent: 350 ft
Pace: 1.5mph – because I’m an ol’ Codger.
Difficulty: NOTE: STORM DAMAGED TRAIL: Hazards may include: washed out bridges, landslides, eroded areas, muddy slippery footing, and downed clusters of trees.
Masticating will be ‘in motion’.
Drive time: 20 min/ 6 mi 1-way
Apprx return time: 2 pm
Carpool contributions appreciated. $1.00 suggested

We suggest open windows while carpooling. Only you know your own health status so judge accordingly if an event may endanger your health or the health of others.
Please bring an extra pair of shoes to avoid bringing your muddy shoes into the driver's car at the end of the hike.
Incessant prattlers will be assumed to be having an affair. My attempts to quiet the prattlers has failed. This has become a ‘social networking’ event.
THIS IS A DOG-PARTICIPANT HIKE. This event is NOT for those who are uncomfortable with the antics of fun-loving dogs. Well trained dogs (you don’t have to yell) can be 'off-leash'. Small (lap)dogs may carpool. Large dogs will drive themselves.

IF YOU HAVE AN ORANGE VEST; WEAR IT. HUNTING SEASON HAS STARTED. ;-) THEY ARE INEXPENSIVE AT WALMART....
This is a Scouting hike; We’ve not been in here since the hurricane – expect surprises. Established trail, but… Seriously overgrown; several trees down blocking trail; some crawling necessary. We’ll be looking for our old beach area.
