We will Tour de Parks of the area. One at a time.
THIS WEEK: Perry Rudnick Nature tr in Kellogg Preserve
We are the Sloth Walking Team: “We will get there when we get there.” We dare to go where the ‘real’ hike groups don’t !!
Pat M & the Curmudgeon will lead this event. The large group will be split into 2 'reasonable' groups. ;-)

Length: 1.4 mi; Accum ascent: 100 ft. Walking sticks recommended.

Google Map = “Kellogg Nature Trails”
Apprx return time: 12 noon (=1.75hrs)
(This event is NOT for beginners or those with health or balance issues.)
Optional: Some of us will lunch after the walk.
Weather Check: Hendersonville, NC.
Carpool contributions appreciated. $1.00 suggested
Difficulty: Moderate; with roots on an earthen tr. 1 very short steep section. Sturdy shoes suggested. Suitable for almost everyone. NOT suitable for those with balance issues.
WAITLISTED PEOPLE WILL BE ADDED AS DRIVERS SIGN ON.
I currently have 4 driver(s). (=16ppl)
We suggest open windows while carpooling. Only you know your own health status so judge accordingly if an event may endanger your health or the health of others.
Please bring an extra pair of shoes to avoid bringing your muddy shoes into the driver's car at the end of the hike.
Incessant prattlers will be assumed to be having an affair. My attempts to quiet the prattlers has failed. This has become a ‘social networking’ event.
This is a dog-participant walk. This event is NOT for those who are uncomfortable with the antics of fun-loving dogs. Dogs are welcome (IF their masters are well trained). 'On leash' rules apply. Small (lap)dogs may carpool. Large dogs will drive themselves.
DESCRIPTION;
Remember - hikes led by ‘the Curmudgeon’ tend to have challenging surprises.
Wood elves are mischievous in the winter; Zip your backpacks tight.
The 1.5 mile trail meanders through three distinct ecosystems—trillium and fern wetland, hardwood forest with rhododendron and mountain laurel, and wildflower meadow. Various art sculptures are scattered throughout.
All walks are at your own risk. You are responsible for your OWN safety and adequate equipment.
