Her Adventure Hike for Women

This group hike is open and welcoming to newcomers. You can arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time if you want to meet the group organizers before others arrive.

About this hike:
Shoal Creek Greenbelt is an urban hike through a greenbelt in downtown Austin. We'll meet at Pease Park and head south toward Town Lake and then turn around. It will be about 3 miles total. This is a rare weekday hike for Her Adventure!

This is a flat, mostly paved urban walk next to a preserved creek area.

Where we'll meet:
We'll meet at the concrete picnic tables right next to the parking lot at Pease Park.

Parking:
Parking at Pease Park in a small parking lot or along the streets near the park.

About Her Adventure:
We are Bobbie and Katy--two friends who have enjoyed spending time hiking and backpacking. We noticed that when we are in the backcountry, we don't see a whole lot of other women--probably due to a lot of factors (historical lack of representation, marketing, fear drilled into us by friends/family that the woods aren't safe, bro culture, etc). So we started Her Adventure with the goal of helping folks see themselves as hikers, adventurers, and strong ass humans who can haul their bodies up and over mountains. We're here to help cultivate the journey and sense of community.
