Sarah-Jane Lowes, Digital Director @Droga5 Ireland, Part of Accenture Song
Sarah-Jane heads up Digital and Social Strategy at Accenture Song. In the world of advertising, people call her SJ. Her mom says it’s her hip advertising name. In the last 12 years she has worked across various disciples including digital intelligence, media, strategy, and experience. She loves storytelling with data. She debatably peaked career wise when ex-Google data evangelist and her personal hero Avinash Kaushik replied to one of her comments on LinkedIn. She has been trying to get back there ever since. She will be talking about the creative side of data with her highly plagiarised and click bait title: AI is about as creative as a toothbrush.
Karen Church, VP Research & Data Science, Intercom
Karen is a research & data science leader who loves building great teams and using data to uncover insights, drive decision making and inform product innovation. As VP of Research & Data Science (RAD) at Intercom, Karen leads a team of researchers and data scientists who help Intercom shape strategy and build products that deliver tangible value to our customers and business. Prior to Intercom, she spent 8 years in industrial research labs (Yahoo Labs & Telefonica Research) leading teams of scientists and driving research of her own in the mobile user behavior space. Karen holds a PhD in Computer Science from University College Dublin and a BSc. in Computer Science from ITB. She has published ~50 peer-reviewed research papers in top tier conferences in human computer interaction, mobile computing, information retrieval and recommender systems. Karen is a huge advocate for women in technology and believes in the power of strong female role models. She is founder of HER+Data, a community for people who identify as female who work with & love data to support each other, share experiences, establish meaningful connections & talk data! Karen is going to talk about "The most underrated skill in Data Science"
We'll also have an intro from Zara Flynn, Managing Director, Accenture Song Ireland
