We're back with another in person HER+Data meetup - this time our first fireside chat! An evening time event on Thursday January 11th @6:30pm (Irish Time), hosted at LinkedIn Community Space (One Wilton Park, Wilton Terrace). We'll be talking to three amazing women about their careers in data and what learnings & advice they have for our audience. Join, ask questions and meet other women who love data. Deirdre Wafer, Senior Customer Insights & Data Storytelling Manager, LinkedIn Marketing Solutions EMEA.
Deirdre works to deliver value to big brand and media agency clients from Linkedin’s unique first party data. Through leadership and a passion for insight led thinking Deirdre inspires fresh, effective marketing and customer led communications to drive positive change. Currently she is also Global Co-Chair for the Wisdom ERG group which brings workers 40+ and their allies together across LinkedIn with an objective of ensuring LinkedIn is a place that works for everyone regardless of age.
Prior to joining Linkedin, Deirdre had an established career in marketing working in a diverse range of industries for companies including Virgin Media, Liberty Insurance, Meteor Mobile, AXA and Bank of Ireland.

Karen Church, VP Research & Data Science, Intercom
Founder & Co-Organiser, HER+Data
Karen is a research & data science leader who loves building great teams and using data to uncover insights, drive decision making and inform product innovation. As VP of Research & Data Science (RAD) at Intercom, Karen leads a team of researchers and data scientists who help Intercom shape strategy and build products that deliver tangible value to our customers and business. Prior to Intercom, she spent 8 years in industrial research labs (Yahoo Labs & Telefonica Research) leading teams of scientists and driving research of her own in the mobile user behavior space. Karen holds a PhD in Computer Science from UCD and a BSc. in Computer Science from ITB. She has published ~50 peer-reviewed research papers in top tier conferences in human computer interaction, mobile computing, information retrieval and recommender systems. She is founder of HER+Data, a community for people who identify as female who work with & love data to support each other, share experiences, establish meaningful connections & talk data!

Emma Redmond, Associate General Counsel, Head of Privacy and Data Protection at OpenAI
Emma was formerly the Global Head of Privacy and Chief Privacy Officer at Stripe, with previous roles as the Head of International Data Protection at both Ancestry and LinkedIn. A seasoned professional in risk and compliance, her voice is a regular fixture at data protection symposia across Europe, and she has contributed numerous scholarly articles in her domain. Emma is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Law at University College Dublin and was honored with a selection for the Leadership in Law programme at Harvard Law School in May 2017. She was formerly Chair of the General Counsel forum at the American Chamber of Commerce in addition to being a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
