What we’re about

ABOUT THE GROUP:
This is a social group for professional women in their 30s and 40s living along the Silver Line and Orange Line corridors of NoVa. Whether you’re new to the area or just ready to expand your circle, the goal of the group is to build friendships.

THIS SPACE IS:

  • Warm and supportive (think: cheering each other on, not competing)
  • Fun and down-to-earth (who doesn't love a good laugh — dry humor, sarcasm, awkward giggles… all welcome)
  • Drama-free and low-maintenance (no cliques, no cattiness, no patience for BS)
  • Inclusive and open-hearted (everyone here is a friend-in-the-making)

*This isn’t a networking group or a “show up and smile politely” vibe.

WHAT WE DO
Events range from casual to curated — always fun, never forced. You can expect a mix of the following:

  • Wineries and happy hours (yes, we love a patio)
  • Dinner nights and new brunch spots
  • Book clubs
  • Board game nights
  • Movie theatres
  • Music festivals
  • Hikes and fresh air therapy
  • Weekend getaways — think Shenandoah cabin vibes or a beachy escape to Ocean City, MD

*Note: Your host despises going into DC, so physical location of most events will be in NoVa (unless, of course, there’s a jam of an event going on in DC)

EXPECTATIONS

  1. Quality over quantity. To keep the group personal, only 25 members will be part of the group at a time.
  2. Show up at least once every two months. If you’re inactive, I’ll assume you’re no longer interested and will open the spot for someone on the waitlist.
  3. Honor your RSVPs. Life happens, I get it. Sometimes you won’t be able to make it. But kindly do let the host know ahead of time. No shows are very inconsiderate and will not be tolerated.
  4. $5–$10 membership fee (every 6 months) once you become a regular. I pay $125 every 6 months to run this group, so a small contribution helps offset the cost.
  5. No drama, gossip, or cliques. We’re grown. This is a kind, inclusive space — no exceptions.
  6. Trumpers, this isn’t your group. We value empathy, respect, and a shared understanding of reality.
  7. No drugs at events. No judgment about your lifestyle, but drugs won’t be part of this group’s activities.
  8. Host if you’re a regular. If you come often, I ask that you plan or co-host from time to time.

About Your Host
Hi, I’m Anastasia. I lived in Alexandria from 2013–2016, then spent eight years in Philly before moving back to Herndon in 2024. While in Philly, I ran a similar women’s Meetup group for five years and it was a huge success thanks to the incredible women who were part of it. They still run it today, and I’m still close with all of them.
On a more personal note:
I love board games, tech, beer, and football. But I also enjoy wearing dresses and makeup. I have a 90-pound English Bulldog named Gus.
