This is Not What it Seems - Session #3 D&D 5E

Feyrith has a strange encounter with his God; Oats is attacked and almost assassinated by Mulcanny and Grawl; Xandros enjoys a wonderful night at the Red Oasis, and Ennuis spent the night finishes a shirt of armor/ All in all a typical night in Afinz Agios.

In the morning after reconnecting Feyrith showed Oats and Xandros his faith in Hermes could heal even those in the worst condition out here on the frontier. Meeting up the Ennuis, the group had an audience with Mayor Xotex, who offered them a job. Get to the Castle Thrax before the Thieves Guildmaster, Soffren, and scout out the area. In return they will be given a ship, the Marie Celeste, to travel across the Great Sand Lake and handsomely rewarded for their information.

They are not to engage with anyone at Castle Thrax but Xandros was offered the same job more or less from Soffen. Soffen's job, however, was to find a mysterious gem which had the power to destroy all humans in the area. Soffen's description sounded to Feyrith of a splinter group of his own tribe that had been banished for it heretical thinking, not just of the destruction of human life but of all life so the world can be restarted. The group might not be able to adhere to the Mayor's warning of not engaging.
