You're Warmly Invited: The Greater Mandala – A 6-Week Journey into Meditation, Buddhism, and the Art of Living
Step into a world of calm, clarity, and connection.
Whether you're a total beginner, curious about meditation or Buddhism, or someone who wants to deepen their existing practice—this six-week course is for you.
This is the first time we’ve offered The Greater Mandala in Hertford. It’s a powerful exploration of how we can live more spaciously, more beautifully—not by cramming our days full of activities and stress, but by moving with purpose and love in a wider, more sacred circle of meaning.
What is The Greater Mandala?
In Buddhist symbolism, a mandala represents a sacred space—a cosmic map of the enlightened mind. In this course, we’ll explore what it means to live within such a mandala: a life where beauty, awareness, and loving-kindness infuse even the simplest moments.
We’ll look at how our choices—especially the “small” ones—can either reinforce a reactive, closed-off mind or open us to a deeper, freer way of being. Through meditation, reflection, and discussion, we’ll explore how to cultivate more:
Loving-kindness and genuine connection
Clarity and inner spaciousness
Contentment and deep ease
What You Can Expect
Guided meditation (full instruction given each week)
Inspiring talks and discussion led by experienced practitioners from the local Triratna Buddhist Sangha
Friendly, welcoming atmosphere (with tea, biscuits, and time to connect!)
Drop-in friendly – come for the whole course or any evenings you can manage
You don’t need to bring anything—just yourself and a curious, open mind. Chairs, mats, and cushions are provided (you’re also welcome to bring your own).

Why Come?People often say these courses are life-changing. They report:
Less anxiety and stress
A deeper sense of calm and purpose
More joy and kindness in everyday life
And if you’ve attended before—don’t worry about repetition. Buddhism works on many layers, and each round of practice takes us deeper. Returning practitioners often find new insights flowering in familiar teachings.
