Trolley Ride

Details
Go back in history to ride a trolley built 115 years ago on the Como-Harriet streetcar line first opened in the 1890's
The ride will be a HBC Moderate Ride which means the speed will be kept between 10 and 12 miles an hour. We will go South from Burnes Park to utilize a portion of the Nine-Mile Creek Trail to reach the Como-Harriet Streetcar Carbarn. The carbarn will open for our bikes to be stored during our Trolley ride. We will board the streetcar and ride along the original right-of-way: first to Lake Harriet station and then on to Bde Maka Ska before returning to the carban for our bikes. We will ride back to Burnes Park using the North Cedar Trail.
The streetcar is on the National Registry of Historic Places and has been restored to its original appearance so you will see it as it was in an earlier era. Historian, Aaron Isaacs meet us at the carbarn and will tell about the historic setting the historic setting.
Our thanks to Dave Gepner who is sponsoring our ride.
