Originally a royal castle, Hluboká has a rich history stretching back centuries. In 1661, it became the property of the powerful Schwarzenberg family, who transformed it over time into the breathtaking landmark we see today. Its current form — including the castle, park, and surrounding landscape — was inspired by Prince Adolf II. Schwarzenberg’s visit to Great Britain for the coronation of Queen Victoria in 1838. The result? A castle straight out of a British fairytale, right here in South Bohemia.

Perched above the Vltava River, Hluboká Castle looks like it’s straight out of a storybook — with its romantic white towers, landscaped gardens, and stunning views. The journey there takes us through peaceful trails, forests, and charming South Bohemian countryside.
