Hidden Knowledge, Shared Humanity: Our First Gathering
Details
Join the first gathering of Hidden Knowledge and Human Connection—a trail walk and thoughtful conversation for unconventional minds and compassionate hearts.
Sunday, November 1, 2026 | 10:00–11:30 a.m. PDT
Meeting point: Ramakrishna Monastery, 19961 Live Oak Canyon Road, Trabuco Canyon. Look for Esteban near the visitor parking area at 10 a.m.; we'll head toward the trail together.
Our opening question: What idea changed how you understand the world?
We'll make room for philosophy, hidden knowledge, science, nature, and our shared humanity. Bring curiosity and a willingness to listen—no expertise or particular belief is required.
OUR 90 MINUTES TOGETHER
• 15 minutes: Meet, introduce ourselves, and head toward the trail.
• 40 minutes: A walk and small-group conversation where talking is permitted, respecting quiet areas and other visitors.
• 20 minutes: Share ideas, book recommendations, and resources that have helped us.
• 15 minutes: Reflect, connect, and choose a future topic.
Bring water, suitable walking shoes, and an optional notebook. You can share a resource recommendation without carrying books or giving anything away. Trail access and conditions may affect our route; we'll follow posted guidance and staff directions.
RESPECTING THE SETTING
This is an independent Meetup gathering, not a monastery-sponsored program. Please respect silence around the shrine and designated quiet areas, dress modestly, and follow the monastery's rules: no picnics, pets, or photo shoots; cellphone use is restricted to the parking lot. If conversation isn't appropriate on the available trail, we'll keep the visit quiet and arrange discussion off-site.
Free to attend. Limited to 10 attendees. Share speaking time, disagree with kindness, and distinguish evidence from interpretation. No sales pitches or pressure to adopt beliefs.
Bring a question. Share a resource. Leave with a connection.
