Looking for a unique afternoon blending history, beautiful views, and traditional Korean tea? Join us for an exclusive road trip to one of Seoul's most peaceful and story-rich temples!
🚖 The Plan: We will meet at Anguk Station and head out in a comfortable 9-seater vehicle. On our way, we’ll drive through Seongbuk-dong, one of Seoul’s most affluent neighborhoods, passing by grand ambassadorial residences and luxury estates.
🏯 Gilsangsa Temple: Our main stop is Gilsangsa, a temple with a fascinating and moving history. Once a legendary high-end restaurant (Yoseok) in modern Korean history, it was later donated to become a Buddhist temple, born from the bittersweet romance between the famous poet Baek Seok and Gisaeng Kim Yeong-han. Today, its lush, beautiful landscaping contrasts beautifully with the serene temple structures, creating a deeply unique and poetic atmosphere.
🍵 Hidden Traditional Teahouse: Afterwards, we’ll drive to a local traditional teahouse to unwind. We have 3 amazing "hidden gem" teahouses in mind, and we will call ahead to secure seats at the one our group prefers most!
