Get ready for an afternoon full of creativity, laughter, inspiration, and crafting therapy! This isn't just another craft day — it's a chance to relax, connect, create, and let your imagination run wild. Mixed media is all about layering textures, colors, memories, and fun materials together to make a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that's completely YOU.
There are no rules, no pressure, and no "right" way to create. Whether your style is messy and colorful, simple and elegant, vintage-inspired, or completely outside the box, this is your opportunity to let your creativity shine!
What to Bring:
• A small canvas or canvas board
• Acrylic paint and brushes (if you have them)
• A small, curated selection of materials or embellishments you personally plan to use in your artwork
Surface Ideas:
• Canvas or canvas boards
• Flat wood pieces or wood rounds
• Glass plates or trays
• Flat signs
• MDF boards
• Frames with solid backing
• Or anything flat that can be decorated and later hung on a wall
Material Ideas:
• Magazine clippings or a small selection of magazines
• Scrapbook paper, card stock, tissue paper, or photos
• Fabric scraps, lace, ribbon, or yarn
• Buttons, beads, sequins, or charms
• Stickers, stamps, or stencils
• Pressed flowers or leaves
• Old sheet music, maps, or book pages
• Small wood shapes or lightweight craft embellishments
• Recycled items such as bottle caps, cereal box cardboard, old jewelry pieces, coffee filters, popsicle sticks, or packaging materials
• Leftover supplies from previous projects that could add texture and visual interest
Not feeling this month's project? Please still come! We want YOU there. Bring whatever craft project you'd like to work on and enjoy spending time creating with the group. Whether you're making mixed media art, crocheting, beading, drawing, journaling, or working on your own creative project, we'd love to have you join us.
A Few Helpful Notes:
• Please keep materials lightweight, clean, and table-friendly
• Please bring only what you realistically plan on using during your project
• Any unused supplies will need to go back home with you
• Space is limited, so if you'd like to share supplies with the group, we will have a sharing table at the front of the room
• Please limit shared items to 1–2 items, and any unused shared supplies will also need to go back home with you
• Limit magazines and avoid bringing large stacks or bins of supplies
• Wear clothes you don't mind getting a little messy
Some shared basics such as glue/adhesives and scissors will be available. Feel free to bring any favorite supplies you love working with.
Please note: Acrylic paint and glue may still be wet when the session ends, so you may want to bring a tray, box lid, or something flat to help transport your artwork home safely.
We can't wait to spend the afternoon creating, laughing, sharing ideas, and seeing everyone's creativity come to life. You won't want to miss this one!
