AI in Higher Ed Part 2: Navigating Ethics, Innovation, and Collaboration

Details

Building on the success of our inaugural AI event, we’re thrilled to announce the second part of our AI in Higher Ed virtual Meetup, where we’ll take a deeper dive into the ethical, social, and strategic dimensions of artificial intelligence in academia. This installment will focus, among other topics, on fostering dialogue around responsible AI integration and the evolving collaboration between educators, administrators, researchers, and students.

In this session, we’ll expand the conversation to explore critical topics, potentially including but not limited to:

  • Ethical Frameworks for AI in Higher Ed: How do we ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in the development and deployment of AI tools in education?
  • Stakeholder Communication: What best practices can facilitate effective conversations among institutional leaders, faculty, students, and IT professionals about AI’s opportunities and risks?
  • AI and Academic Integrity: How is AI reshaping concepts of plagiarism, authorship, and assessment, and how can we maintain trust in academic work?
  • AI-Driven Personalization: While AI promises customized learning pathways, what safeguards are needed to avoid unintended biases or over-reliance on technology?
  • Future-Proofing Careers in the AI Age: What new skills, knowledge, and mindsets will educators and students need as AI transforms academic disciplines and the job market?

We will be joined by James Stoffel, CIO at Showa Women's Institute; Ben Gaucherin, Campus Services Director at Harvard University; Emily Laird, AI Integration Technologist at the University of Wisconsin-Stout; and Miro Humer, VP and CIO at Case Western Reserve University.

Whether you’re an educator, administrator, student, or technology enthusiast, this Meetup promises to spark meaningful discussions about the future of higher education in an AI-driven world. You’ll leave with actionable insights and new connections to help you navigate this transformative era.

RSVP to contribute to this vital conversation on the future of education!

This call will be recorded for those who cannot attend and will be released to the public soon after.
