Reality in Higher Ed (Virtual, Augmented, Mixed) - Ready or Not for Prime Time?
Details
Virtual Reality. Augmented Reality. Mixed Reality. Understanding what each is can be confusing, nevermind knowing how to use each as you develop your courses.
Join a panel of three leading experts on the subject as they discuss their experiences and lessons learned. Hear about the Boston VR ecosystem and learn about related resources. Ask questions.
And experience Virtual Reality hands on.
Join us on Thursday, June 14, at the Showa Boston Institute in Jamaica Plain for the last Higher Ed IT Professionals Meetup of the academic year.
We will be bringing together the following leaders in the Virtual Reality world:
Rus Gant, the Director of the Visualization Research and Teaching Laboratory at Harvard University and Lead Technical artist for the Giza 3D project at Harvard reconstructing the pyramids, temples and tombs on the Giza Plateau in Egypt in virtual reality.
Jeffrey Jacobson - Ph.D. in Virtual and Augmented Reality with 25 years of research, projects, and consulting in several industries. Published expert on VR and AR for education.
Alan Foster - Co-Organizer of the Boston EdTech Meetup and founding director of the Boston EdTech Foundation, focusing on VR and AR adoption in museums, libraries and archives.
The panel will be moderated by Dr. Elmore Alexander, Dean, Louis Ricciardi College of Business, Bridgewater State University and specialist in working with executive and management teams in the development of strategic plans, the improvement of group effectiveness, the management of conflict, and career effectiveness.
Take advantage of this opportunity to learn and network with these experts and others in Higher Ed facing similar challenges. The Meetup will run from 6 PM to 8:30 PM, followed by networking. Snacks and drinks will be provided. RSVP today.
