AI is ever present on the minds of Higher Education technology professionals and those of other industries alike. Thankfully, there is a lot we can learn from other industries' approach to artificial intelligence. We will be continuing our AI in Higher Ed series with our fourth installment: AI in Higher Ed: Learning from Other Industries. We will discuss where Higher Ed’s AI initiatives stand compared to other sectors and how IT professionals can adjust lessons learned for their own institutions and organizations.

Key areas of discussion will include:

  • Where other industries are actually putting AI to work — the use cases that have moved past pilots and into real operations
  • The challenges other sectors have run into along the way — from adoption and change management to data quality, trust, and ROI
  • How those industries have responded — the strategies, guardrails, and course corrections that have helped them move forward
  • Lessons learned and how they apply to higher ed — which takeaways translate directly, which need adapting, and which don't fit the campus context at all

We will be joined by Nuno Couto, co-founder of the Higher Ed Tech Pros Meetup, acting as moderator. We are also proud to announce that Carolina Rossini, Director for Programs, Public Interest Technology Initiative at the University of Massachusetts: Amherst, Pradeep Sanyal, Chief AI Officer & AI First Programs of The Data Institute, University of San Francisco, will be joining us as panelists.

Whether you’re exploring the legal challenges of AI integration, researching best practices for staying compliant with regulations, or simply curious about the ethical implications of AI in education, this session will provide a platform for dialogue with your peers and other experts in the industry.

Save the date and join us as we explore how AI can be leveraged responsibly and equitably to shape the future of higher education.
