**DAX Foundation – an introduction into the workings of DAX**
In our July 2024 meetup, we're honored and excited to be joined by Thomas "Tom" Martens, an internationally-recognized expert in the Power BI community. This presentation will touch on foundational DAX concepts, ranging from the filter context over table iterator functions like SUMX to the scope of variables. This session is inspired by questions from community.powerbi.com and will (hopefully) provide insights into the mechanic (it’s not magic). Each aspect will be covered by one (or more) report page.

**About our speaker**
Tom is a Solution Architect at Munich Re. Because of his activities in the data platform community, Microsoft has awarded him the Data Platform MVP award for six consecutive years. Next, to speaking at international conferences, user groups, and meetups, his activity at the Fabric community earned him the Super User status.
