Honouring the Goddess Diana -A very special event

Join us in Hampstead Heath for a very special Rite to honour the Goddess Diana - Virgin Huntress and Lunar Goddess, said to be mother of Aradia Queen of the Witches! Diana is the twin sister of Sun god Apollo.

Romans worshipped her as Diana, while Greeks represented her as Artemis. Some mystery traditions say that Diana split herself into 2 forms, as herself and her other half as Lord of Light . There is much mystery and symbolism in this story of how the Goddess split herself and then reunited with her other half to create new life - mainly her daughter Aradia!

Diana is often associated with hunting, a maiden goddess who roams free in the woods, with her hunting dogs, bow & arrow. She is one of the woodland deities, and revered goddess of children and childbirth, fertility, chastity, the moon, and wild animals. She is known to have ability to talk to woodland animals and influence them. These are magical reasons enough to call on Diana for her blessings.

Freya, initiated Witch & Priestess in the Gardnerian tradition of Wicca, will take you from the world of the mundane to the realms of the Gods to honour and participate in this ritual and feast with the Goddess Diana.

The event is held outdoors at a lovely area of Hampstead heath, in the shades of trees but overlooking the open heath/ hill area and the sky. There are large logs to sit on (and ground sheets to sit on ground too). The ritual spot is about 10minutes walk from the `Parliament Hill' bus stop (you'll be collected from the entrance area and walk together to ritual spot).

The Ceremony will include Consecrations, Circle / sacred space, inviting the 4 elements, then proceed to energy work, invocation to Goddess Diana, who will then lead all participants in some personal magical work. (more details given at the ritual).

Venue: Hampstead Heath, North London.
*due to tube strikes starting at 7pm on 3 lines, we are aiming to finish main Ritual proceedings by 5pm. Those not in a hurry can stay longer with the events organisers and chat/ socialise till 6pm.

meeting point/ travel:

Please gather by the entrance to park, just next to `Bistro Laz' Restaurant, 1 High gate West Hill, N6 6JS. We'll collect you and walk 10 minutes to our ritual spot in the wooded area.
(transport: From Kentish Town tube/ train station, take buses 214, C11, 88 to `Parliament Hill Fields' bus stop. Our meeting point is just few feet away. )
