About us
Hello Everyone,
I actively walk with and hike with a pug at my side - I call it mountain pugging and have had some really great experiences with my last bestie pug of 14 years, Jazz, and look forward for many more to come with my new little guy, Truman (the one in the new group pic). I also volunteer with Colorado Pug Rescue when I am able and have found this very rewarding as well. I live in Broomfield and work in Boulder and enjoy hiking all over from down to Roxborough State Park up the Rocky Mountain National Park, and Marshall Mesa is definitely a favorite.
Here's the short version of the plan I have for the shape of this group:
I'd like to provide an active venue for group dog walks, planned easy to moderate hiking around trails in the Boulder, Broomfield, Louisville, Superior and all in between - and am definitely open to other area. Meet ups at dog parks that offer area for small dogs and or parks are fine as well. I would also like to offer some sort of participation in various charity events as time allows related to interaction with the community and fundraising for various canine groups that provide a fun venue for participants and their pets. I have attended some great ones (Halloween is always fun), and perhaps some interaction with retirement communities.
What organizing for the group that I will be doing on my end:
Plan out weekend hikes / walks opportunities for the group with details about the trails, facility access, directions, pics if available and anything else that relates to the hike/walk. Opportunities to attend fundraising events for canine groups and/or other appropriate non-profits. Look for opportunities to interact with members of our community which may not have access to animals on a regular basis as a therapeutic level, such as those in retirement communities.
I definitely welcome member involvement, suggestions and added events to the group calendar.
I am just starting out as the organizer of this group, so it will take me a few weeks to start getting everything planned as I work too :)
If you have any questions or ideas you'd like to ask or suggest, please send them on my way or post them to the group.
Look forward to the upcoming year & lots of fun stuff to come with the group.
Please note we have an official Group Facebook site at:

Great park and easy loop located in heart of Old Town Longmont, including fabulous rose garden, Pavilion, and is a short distance to restaurants allowing dogs on patio such as Pumphouse and The Roost, however to celebrate summer I’m thinking a jaunt over to Sweet Cow Creamery to pick up some ice cream and then go gobble it up back at the park under a shady tree could be our best option. The Creamery doesn’t allow dogs – but are literally right across the street on the corner.
We’ll meet in the parking lot area near the Senior Center which is easy to find.
