The Perfect Portugal Adventure 2022 - SOLD OUT/TRIP FULL

Join us for a fabulous multi-day trek along some of the most beautiful sections of Portugal's Atlantic coast hopping from one lovely seaside village to another through breathtaking, un-spoilt scenery. You will not need to carry a heavy pack (unless you want to) as we arrange luggage transfers from hotel to hotel so you just need to walk with a light day sack. At 'Highlife Hiking' we always 'trek in style' so will stay in well appointed hotels, guesthouses & hostels in individual rooms. We know this area well and can promise hiking at its best and some lifetime memories. What you waiting for?

ITINERARY

Day 1 - 18th September: Meet at Faro airport arrivals at 12-30 to take a private transfer to our first night accommodation. On arrival you can enjoy the beach or bar overlooking the Atlantic. Its up to you!! In the evening, we will eat in a restaurant and get to meet eachother properly.

Day 2 - 19th September. Hike Time!!! Porto Covo to Vila Nova de Milfontes. The opening day will immediately reward you with stunning views of sweeping beaches and mighty sand dunes. We finish in a stunning river valley where we rest up in a seafront hotel. A tougher day as we often walk across sand. Distance 19km. Difficulty 8/10. Hiking time 4.5- 5hrs.

Day 3 - Tuesday 20th. Vila Nova de Milfontes to Almograve. After a ferry crossing over the river we hit the cliffs to walk a fabulous section of trail with ever changing character. A much easier day too. Distance 15km. Difficulty 5/10. Hiking time 3.5-4hrs.

Day 4 - Wednesday 21st. Almograve to Zambujeira. Today we hit a most spectacular section of coast with amazing landscapes that feel like another world. Distance 22.5km. Difficulty 7/10. Hiking time 4.5-5hrs.

Day 5 - Thursday 21st. Zambujeira to Odeceixe. It may be the last hike but its no anticlimax as we are treated to breathtaking scenery and cliff top hugging paths before ending our epic journey at Odeceixe to can enjoy end of hike beers. Total distance 16km. Difficulty 6/10. Hiking time 4-4.5hrs.

Day 6 - Friday 22nd September. Transfer from Zambujeira to Faro Airport. Sadly, all good things come to and end! Today its time to return to the airport by private taxi transfer after breakfast.

Cost and Payment : The trip is £640 per person. To join RSVP Yes and pay the £140 deposit by PayPal. The remaining balance of £500 must be paid by transfer by the 31st July 2022. Payment details will be issued when your booking has been processed. Any spaces not paid in full in time will be lost because of the need to secure very limited local accommodation. Please note the deposit and any later trip payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. However, once full payment has been received and the trip is full, you may sell your space to a member of the same sex by advertising it for sale on this site.

We suggest an inbound flight to arrive 1 0r 2 hours before the meeting time of 12-30 on the 18th to allow for delays with flights, passport control or baggage etc. The trip ends at Faro airport on day 6 at 10am at Faro airport.

Food: Breakfast will be provided each morning. A packed lunch will be provided for the 4 hiking days. Evening meals are not included but food and drinks are cheap and good quality in Portugal. Most restaurants can cater for vegetarians but you will need to satisfy yourself about any meals or menus in relation to preferences and any allergies etc.

The price includes: • 5 nights accommodation in hotels, B&Bs or hostels with single rooms where possible but sharing single gender twin bedrooms when if single rooms are not available. • Breakfast each day • 4 packed lunches • Hikes lead by an experienced and trained Hike Leader with Outdoor First Aid qualification • Compliance with the 2018 Package Travel Regulations including Financial protection • Complimentary private taxi airport transfers at the start and end of the trip. • Ferry crossing at Milfontes • Daily luggage transfers from hotel to hotel.

The price doesn’t include: • Flights • Evening meals • Drinks and personal expenses • Lunches on non hiking days. • Travel insurance (This is essential and must cover the cost of emergency medical treatment and the activity of hiking. If you are unable to provide proof of your insurance policy we will not be able to accept you on the trip and no refund will be given in that event).

Safety. Hiking is a generally safe activity and we will not be in mountainous terrain. However, hiking still involves a risk of personal injury so it is important that you come with appropriate footwear, clothes & sun protection.
