HAMMOCK MISCONCEPTION #1:

  • “I’ve tried sleeping in a hammock and it’s ok for a while but I get sore sleeping like a banana”

  • FACT: You just haven’t tried a true asymmetrical camping hammock! They’re designed to lie flat diagonally providing some of the most comfortable nights you’ll ever experience!

Our goal is to make the equipment and information more accessible! Think of it like mountain biking… You could go down a trail on a $200 Walmart bike, and that uncomfortable experience could leave you never wanting to try it again… Meanwhile, going down the same trail on a $2000 finely tuned pro rig, you may fall in love with the sport!! The same goes with the technical hobby of Hanmock Camping and we provide the opportunity to try the proper gear and learn how to finely tune it.

HAMMOCK MISCONCEPTION #2:

  • “But my butt gets cold in a hammock, there’s bugs everywhere and what about rain and wind?”

  • FACT: A true hammock-tent will have a mesh bug net, a unique rainfly and an under/top quilt insulation system that makes it as warm and bug-free as your conventional tents… and the truth is: you stay dryer and less vulnerable to flooding being off the ground!

My name is Aaron - I also go by “AJ” - and I’ve been hammock camping for years! I typically use a Hennessy Hammock system with top/under quilts and I own a Tentsile Stingray 3 person tree tent! I also recently got a Kammock Outpost suspension system that mounts on a car for when trees are not available! I’m happy to demo all of it for the group and encourage members to bring their own gear to demo. I even have some spare systems I can provide members with if they want to come out for an adventure!

I’m looking forward to a fun 2024 camping season and hope to hang out with old and new friends alike!
