As evening attempts to enshroud the city in darkness, an array of colourful lights spring to life and dominate the cityscape. Lights from bridges and buildings alike reflect off an inky black Willamette River as it silently flows through the breadth of Portland.

Wearing a comfortable pair of walking shoes, you venture out into the night in search of twinkling city lights. First, the brightly-coloured lights of the Oregon Convention Center come into view as you cross the Hawthorne Bridge. As you turn onto the Eastbank Esplanade, the lights from downtown's skyscrapers shimmer in the Willamette River. After passing OMSI's submarine, you direct your attention towards the brilliant green lights of the expansive Tilikum Crossing. Midway across the bridge, you pause to take in the city from a peaceful distance.

Anticipation builds as you approach the Aerial Tram. You buy your ticket and eagerly await your ride. The doors close on the tram and you're lifted up into the night sky. A spectacular view of the city fills you with wonder as you rise ever higher into the air. Atop the upper platform of the tram, you look out across the city, take notice of the converging taillights of cars queuing up to cross the Marquam Bridge, and look down on the vivid colours of the Tilikum Crossing that you walked over just minutes before.

Back on the ground, you admire the smattering of lights along the Riverplace Marina, take one last look at the city, say your goodbyes to your traveling companions, and make your way back to your cozy home.

So, come out for a beautiful walk to view Portland's city lights at night from a few great viewpoints!
