I plan on taking the Old South Loop Trail. You must be acclimated to Charleston and have good cardio to attend. You must also be able to keep a good pace with breaks. Please know your pace and ability!!! Please give your driver at least $5 for the ride to Charleston.

Safety is the first priority of our hikes. Therefore, all hikers in our group, including another leader who joins us, will stay behind the leader.

Group Hiking: Stay with the group behind the leader. If you don’t want to stay with us, you can always go hiking on your own, though it’s not recommended. Don’t run ahead. If you start to get too far behind, shout ahead before you’re out of range for someone to hear you. I always endeavor to keep track of everyone’s progress, but ultimately it’s your responsibility to communicate what you need.

Weather: The weather in the mountains can change quickly. Vegas can be hot but an unexpected storm in the mountains can become very cold. ALWAYS bring a rain jacket or poncho. Staying dry will save your life. Do not wear cotton clothing and bringing an extra layer is always a good idea.

Griffith is the 3rd highest peak in southern Nevada. Expect a very strenuous, 9.5-mile round-trip hike that climbs about 3,400. Be sure to bring at least 3 liters of water and electrolyte replenisher, lunch, snacks and a smile. 😉

By signing up for and/or attending this event, each participant acknowledges and reaffirms the Waiver and Statement of Personal Responsibility previously executed by each participant and agrees that he/she has assumed all risk of injury, releases HASLV from all liability, covenants not to sue, and waives all claims against HASLV, its leaders and representatives.
