Snowshoeing 201 for Intermediate L-3 Chip
Details
We had so much fun today so lets do this again!!!
This time its going to be longer and higher in elevation of fun. As usual I am going to keep an eye on the weather forecast and check the area a few days before to make sure it's safe. So we may be hiking at first in the snow and then switching to snowshoes as we climb. Be prepared with a way to attach your snowshoes to your pack to carry them. Bungee cords or any kind of short rope/strings will work.
This is a high elevation activity (with elevation gain of 1,712'. This will be MUCH more strenuous than your typical hike. You'll get a serious full body workout on this one! You MUST be in good shape to do this.
.
We will start at the Northloop Trailhead and make our way up to Northloop saddle then head up Rain Tree. This will be an out and back. There will be some steep sections on the way up and down so expect challenging conditions. This will be hard work in the snow! The pace will be moderate with lots of short breaks and a few longer ones.
