Hoover Peak L3 (Lake Mead/Colorado River area exploratory-ish) best dam view!
Details
This will be an exploratory (but easy to find) hike to the absolutely best viewpoint of Hoover Dam and Bridge that you can get without being in a helicopter. We will start at the Goldstrike Hot Springs parking area and after about a 1/2 mile start up the ridge near the crashed car. We will hit a saddle, descend a little and follow a ridge to the summit. We will go a little beyond the peak for an even better view of the dam. On the return we will take a canyon that drops us into Goldstrike Canyon near the first rope and hike back out to the trailhead. From the video and trip reports it shouldn't be any more than class 2 unless we make it more. Expect a few loose sections so hiking poles will help. This peak is on Peakery's "Las Vegas 100 Peaks" list.
