Bjärehalvön and Hovs Hallar Hike
Details
Hey everyone! 👋
I'm rehosting this hike and am really excited to finally make it happen!
We'll be heading to Hovs Hallar on the Bjäre Peninsula, known for its dramatic cliffs, rich geological history, and as a popular birdwatching and photography spot. It's also a filming location for Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal.
The hike will cover approximately 18 kilometers along Skåneleden 1, following parts of stages 16, 17, and 18. We'll start at Norrviken (just north of Båstad) and finish in the harbor of Torekov. The first 10 kilometers will be quite hilly, while the last 8 km will be flatter but still include some rocky terrain. Keep this in mind, as the first section can be demanding.
Along the way, we'll take breaks to rest and refuel, with a longer lunch stop at Hovs Hallar. Don't forget to bring lunch, snacks, and plenty of water.
If you're interested, I've created a GPX file of the route I made.
Meeting point and schedule:
We'll meet on the Öresundståg train heading towards Båstad, and we'll be sitting in the front of the train. I'll board at Malmö C and be there a few minutes before departure. Below is the train schedule with the major stops:

- Copenhagen Nørreport: 07:23
- Copenhagen H: 07:30
- Ørestad: 07:37
- Tårnby: 07:40

In Båstad, we transfer to bus 501 at 09:40, arriving at Båstad Apelrydsskolan at 09:57, where our hike begins.
The total journey back takes about the same time. We plan to return on bus 502 from Torekov to Båstad at 15:48, which should give us plenty of time. If we end up needing more time, the next bus departs at 17:48.
For those coming by car: This is not a circular hike, so if you're driving, I recommend parking near Båstad station and joining us on those buses to and from the hike.
See you then! Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
