Travel Sunday;
• Caravan/ Carpool – 11am Leave From Carpool lot across from White caps baseball stadium. W. River Dr. & US 131. 4 hr dr plus a lunch stop
• No group schedule for coming back
Lodging;
Sunday & Monday lodging at Bayside Inn Mackinaw city. I will be negotiating room rates as soon as I have a good idea how many are going.
Group Meals-
Sunday and Monday night inMackinaw city
Ferry-
• Leaves Mackinaw City “on the ½ hr” starting at 7:30 . Discount through your Hotel
• Main Group departure @ 10:30 am Monday.
• Ferry returns “on the hour” up to 8 pm.
Bikes;
• Bring your own on ferry or
• Rent on Island.
On Island activities;
• Adventure Group bike ride @ 11:15 am – Tour leader is Scott A. Loaf Rock & St Ann’s Cemetery with long downhill coast through center of island past golf course & Airport. Approx 9 miles. . 2 hours. Very scenic, historic, fun & strenuous ride to
original Fort at top of island, Arch rock, Sugar steep hills (we can walk up them) & some narrow dirt trail riding. About 90% paved route. Lunch break at “Snack Shack” on far side of island (about ¾ way point).
• Leisure Group bike ride around outside of Island @ 11:15 am – Guide is TBD. 8 miles, easy & very scenic. Food at “Snack Shack” 1/2 way point.
• Tour Grand Hotel where “Somewhere in Time” was filmed. (Scott knows secret entrance)
• Tour Fort Mackinac
• Eat Fudge
• Shop
• Ride horse buggy taxi’s
