Hike description
From Tring station we’ll start our walk beside the Grand Union Canal to Cow Roast Lock. Leaving the canal, we head towards Aldbury Common and on towards the famous Bridgewater Monument. There are public toilets, an ice cream van and snacks available here 😊

After a short break we'll walk through woods until we join the Icknield Way Trail. This will lead us to Ivinghoe Beacon which has lovely views of gorgeous green rolling hills of Buckinghamshire and the legendary chalk lion at Dunstable Downs. Depending on the weather, we might stop here for our lunch break.

After our break, we’ll walk the Ridgeway National Trail, taking in the summit of Pitstone Hill and passing Grim's Ditch (an ancient Celtic earthwork), and then on to Aldbury for a well deserved drink at The Greyhound Inn. This is a popular spot and visitors often enjoy their drink sitting on the grass by the lovely village pond.

After the pub we’ll walk about 1.5km to Tring railway station.
