Reigate Caves ~ Two hour guided tour

Join us for a guided tour of Reigate caves.

Please do not sign up for this event if you are planning to do the earlier walk which includes the caves.

Wealden Cave & Mine Society will guide us in Reigate Caves.

Meeting at
‘The Market Stores’, 2 High Street, Reigate RH2 9AY. We'll be in one of the bars from approximately 4pm. At 4.50pm we'll head for the caves.

What to take for the caves: A hand torch and suitable clothes for the cool temperature (approximately 10 degrees).

Also, we're not insured, so please have your own insurance for this type of activity.

Reigate Caves
We'll meet our guide from Wealden Cave & Mine Society at 5pm.
Hard hats will be provided for head protection.

We'll see two distinct systems:

• Tunnel Road East (museum side).
• Barons Cave (the old wine cellar beneath the medieval castle).

A trip into both takes approximately 2 hours in total (1 hour per system) and costs £6 per person. It should be possible to bail out after 1 hour if you are pushed for time.

Wealden Cave & Mine Society are a charity and all the money received goes back into the upkeep of the systems.

The guides are all volunteers.

• Event Fee - £5 Donation to GOSH: cash on the day. The Meetup group 'Hike for Charity' are raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children

TRAVEL
by train

• Direct line from London Victoria to Reigate. 10 minutes walk to 'The Market Stores' pub.

by car

• Parking at Reigate station. 10 minutes walk to 'The Market Stores' pub.
• Parking at Bell Street. 5 minutes walk to 'The Market Stores' pub.
