Do this walk because - you want to join us on our St James' Way pilgrimage as we continue our walk from Basingstoke, heading towards Southampton.
St James' Way, Reading to Southampton - British Pilgrimage Trust

Walk facts
Form: Linear walk from Basingstoke to Upper Wield.
Distance: Approximately 17 km / 10 miles
Duration: actual walking time, circa 5 hours.
Hike grade: Easy/Moderate depending on the weather. The walk has a total ascent of 243m.

Donation to GOSH: £5 cash on the day. If this is your third consecutive day walking with this group you are not expected to make a donation on this walk.

What to take: A good packed lunch and plenty of water to keep you going for the full distance. A flask with a warm drink would be nice to have.

Also, we're not insured, so please have your own insurance for this type of activity.

Walk description
Starting from Buckingham Crescent we'll soon join the St James' Way heading south.
At Dummer we may take a refreshment break in The Queen Inn
We'll continue on St James' Way to Preston Candover & on to the quiet rural village of Upper Wield to complete our walk.

Walk start location (Free parking & Tesco Express here)
Car park, 13 Buckingham Ct, Basingstoke RG22 5NY.
Meet at 11am. Start walking at 11.15am.

After the walk we can drop you at the start location or Basingstoke station or Reading station.
