8-mile hike in scenic Catoctin Mountain Park starting and ending at the park's visitors' center in Thurmont, Maryland. This hike has about 1,700 feet of elevation gain, so you must have experience with hikes of this level of difficulty. Hiking boots or shoes or similarly sturdy footwear recommended as the trail has rocky stretches throughout.
After the hike we will go to Springfield Manor Winery, Distillery, and Brewery (https://www.springfieldmanor.com) for drinks and food (11836 Auburn Road Thurmont MD).
[Note: The parking lot at the visitors' center can fill up quickly. It opens at 9; if you can arrive a few minutes early your parking experience may be easier.]
