About the Hike
Join us for a midweek adventure to the stunning Blue Lake Trail, one of Washington’s most scenic alpine hikes. Expect crystal-clear waters, dramatic granite peaks, and vibrant golden larches in full fall color.
This moderate hike is perfect for soaking in the autumn beauty, taking photos, and meeting new hiking friends — all while avoiding the weekend crowds and rain.
Distance: ~4.6 miles round trip
Elevation Gain: ~1,050 ft
Difficulty: Moderate

Itinerary
6:00 AM – Meet at Wilburton Park & Ride, Bellevue – organize carpools
6:15 AM – Depart Bellevue
9:30 AM – Arrive at Blue Lake Trailhead, begin hike
1:00 PM – Finish hike, relax at the lake, enjoy alpine views and fall colors
3:30 PM – Depart trailhead
5:30 PM – Dinner in Leavenworth at Visconti’s Italian Restaurant 🍝🍷
6:30 PM – Depart Leavenworth
8:00 PM - Return to Bellevue
What to Bring
- Hiking boots or sturdy trail shoes
- Warm layers (mornings will be chilly)
- Snacks, lunch, and at least 2L of water
- Headlamp (for early start)
- Sunglasses and sunscreen
- Rain jacket or wind shell
- Microspikes
- Camera for the golden larches 🌲✨
- Small bag for muddy boots after hike/ change of footwear
Cost & Logistics
$30 per person to support carpool gas and trip coordination.
Please bring cash or Venmo for your driver at the start of the trip.
We’ll organize carpools at Wilburton Park & Ride to make travel smooth and efficient.
