Stokes: AT to Acropolis Trail, Jacob's Ladder & St Panteleimon Church! 6 miles

Please join me on a lovely six mile hike with 800 feet of elevation!

We start at the AT trailhead at Stokes (just north of Rte 206 next to Culver Lake). We'll head SOUTH to hike up the AT to the Acropolis trail which we'll follow along the ridge to Jacob's Ladder, then down Woods Rd to Mountain Trail where there is a charming, picturesque Russian Orthodox Church.

🔸️Length: About 6 miles
🔸️Difficulty: Some steep grades but generally moderate.
🔸️Total Elevation Gain: About 800 feet
🔸️Conditions: Wear/bring appropriate gear, some may appreciate having their poles along. It's bug season, bring your deterrent of choice.
🔸️Other Pertinent Info: It's summer, please bring plenty of water. If hot, bring more! We'll be out over lunch, bring lunch or snacks as you prefer.
🔸️Meeting location: Culver's Gap Parking lot (AT trailhead off Sunrise Mountain Rd via North Shore Rd from Rte 206 in Stokes State Forest)
🔸️Pace: moderate. I take lots of pictures.
🙋‍♀️Newcomers are always welcome. This is a moderate difficulty hike, primarily due to a steep incline at the beginning and a short but steep rocky downhill on the Jacob's Ladder trail
