Join us to explore the Split Rock Conservation Area in Brentwood, NH on a walk via-hosted by the Brentwood Conservation Commission. We’ll meander along trails that pass the Little River and through the recently expanded conserved town forest, and explore how a land stewardship plan and sustainable logging in 2017 resulted in a healthier mix of hardwood trees and a potential source of future revenue for the town. The Conservation area includes a 4-acre shrubland and young forest habitat that provides a rare habitat in New Hampshire for birds, snakes and small mammals.

After our walk, we welcome participants to meet up for lunch and conversation at the Holy Grail Pub in Epping, NH.

This walk will be mostly on a fairly level woods trails. Participants should wear sturdy walking shoes, layers, rain gear, water and snacks. After you register through the AMC site, a leader will reach out with details on the meeting location.
