As a continuation of Tony’s 3:00 hike standards, RSVPs will close at 9 PM the day before the event.

We will meet at the JMF Welcome Center immediately after the 1:00 4-Mile Hike. This workout hike will start 5 minutes after the listed start time.

This is a 4.5-mile fitness hike featuring significant hills and no planned rest stops. There is no trail running, but the route includes roughly 2,000 feet of elevation change over about 90 minutes, so expect a challenging workout even if you’re in good shape.

We will regroup about a half-mile in. Anyone who falls behind by that point will have the choice to turn around or continue on their own. I will follow the typical plan to stick with anyone who makes it to the Purple Heart trail connector at the group pace. There are 3 points along the trail where you can take a shortcut back to the Welcome Center if you wish but you will be on your own at that point.

We encourage anyone looking to build fitness and endurance to join, take the shortcuts as needed, and progress over time. I can personally attest that consistency with this group makes a big difference!

Also, if there's snow on the ground, expect random snowballs to be flying through the air!
