Clifty Falls - Waterfalls After the Rain!!

Join Hike and Bike the Ville for a scenic hike with THREE beautiful (and likely beautifully flowing) waterfalls: Clifty Falls, Hoffman Falls, and Tunnel Falls. This moderately challenging hike is 6.2 miles with a 997 ft gain, which we should complete in about three hours with a moderate pace (note extra time for optional lunch and other activities mentioned below).

Important Details

• We'll meet at the Clifty Park parking lot (just over an hour from Louisville - map/address provided)
• The fee to enter the park is $7 (IN residents) or $9 (non-residents) per vehicle.
• Nearby Downtown Madison is a destination in itself! Several people will likely stay for lunch - and maybe additional exploration of downtown. We'll discuss those plans during the hike.

Hike Highlights

• Clifty Falls: A singular waterfall cascading into a tranquil pool; strong viewpoints from the rim and near the base.
• Hoffman Falls: Striking 78-foot drop in a narrow ribbon against banded limestone.
• Tunnel Falls: 83 feet and often a heavier flow than Hoffman; we will use extra caution here due to slick rocks and no railing.
