Join Hike and Bike the Ville for a scenic 4-mile hike along the Falls of the Ohio. We'll begin at the George Rogers Clark Homesite in Clarksville, travel through Origin Park and the Loop Island Wetlands, then return to our starting point. The route is approximately 65% dirt trail and 35% paved Greenway, with generally easy terrain and a few moderate inclines.

We'll maintain a brisk but comfortable pace, with several short stops to enjoy the scenery and explore the rich natural and historical significance of the landscape around us.

Highlights include:

• The homesite of George Rogers Clark, who founded Louisville and Clarksville, helped secure the Northwest Territory for the United States, and hosted his brother William Clark and Merriweather Lewis as they prepared for their Expedition of the West.

• Spectacular views of the Falls of the Ohio, including Goose Island, Sand Island, the McAlpine Dam and hydroelectric plant, and the Louisville skyline.

• The site where the Lewis and Clark Expedition departed in 1803

• Origin Park's new Vista event center and Buttonbush Woods

• Mill Creek and Silver Creek

• The Loop Island Wetlands, home to diverse flora and fauna and once a favored location for duels in the region's early history

Hike and Bike the Ville is dedicated to fostering a welcoming, supportive environment where people can enjoy exercise, nature, and good company. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome too!
