Let's camp on Mount Baldy

[Cross-posted; you must leave a comment to attend; experienced only]
Let's backpack up the Ski Hut Trail on Mt Baldy and camp either on or near the summit, or about a mile past the Hut where the trail briefly levels off and there's some shade.
While my dayhikes are one-for-all, all-for-one, in this case I need all attendees to a) be experienced backpackers, b) who've been to 10k' recently, and c) who are completely self-reliant.
The reason is I don't like backpacking, I'm only doing this for training and acclimatization. I have a cheap trekking pole tent that I've never been able to get working. So, I might give up in disgust and return back to the trailhead the same day.
However, if I can get the tent working, my plan is to summit Baldy the next day (if we aren't already there), and then return down the Backbone and the road. Hopefully I can also do Timber and Telegraph. So, if I do those and you don't want to, you'd need to be able to get back on your own. You could also just return down the Ski Hut trail.
After that long exposition, I have a bear can and I might have space for some of your food. I won't be bringing a stove, just bread+meat+snacks. I don't know if you need a stove permit, but if you can just bring things that don't require cooking that would be best. Bring at least a gallon of water & hydrate before leaving. Bring warm clothing. The day will be hot so be prepared for that, but at night I'd imagine it can get quite chilly especially if there's wind. Bring wag bags or biffy bags. There's filterable water and an outhouse at the Ski Hut, but the Notch restaurant will be closed.
I believe you can park overnight at Manker Flats, I'm trying to confirm that. You'll need an Adventure Pass or NPS Pass, don't forget that.
