Hikelander

Based in Milton Keynes, Hikelander is a community for those who believe the best weekends are spent outdoors. We organise weekly and bi-weekly adventures wherever we can find a decent hill to climb or a body of water to explore.

We aren't just about local paths, though; we love to travel! During the summer, we pack up for camping trips to some of the UK’s most iconic landscapes. If you’re looking to escape the MK grid and find some real wilderness, you’ve found your crew.

The Ground Rules (Please read before joining)

--Real Faces Only: For safety and community, your profile must have a clear, recognisable photo of your face (no hats/sunglasses hiding you, and no pets or landscapes). You must also use your real name.

--Stay Reachable: Please keep your messaging settings open so organisers can contact you with important event updates or location changes.

--Gear Up: We hike rain or shine! Sturdy hiking boots and waterproof layers are essential. Always bring enough water and snacks to keep you going, as pub stops aren't guaranteed.

--Admin Fee: We charge a small fee per walk (payable in cash at the start) to help cover our Meetup subscription and organiser costs.

--Respect the RSVP: We keep our groups small for a better experience. If you can't make it, please update your RSVP at least 24 hours in advance. Frequent "no-shows" will be removed from the group.

--Liability: By joining, you acknowledge that hiking and camping involve risks. You are responsible for your own safety and equipment. Our leaders are experienced volunteers, not professional guides.

--No Dogs: To ensure the group stays together and moves at a consistent pace, we do not allow dogs on our trips.
