Here's another Saturday Weekend adventure for ya!

A demanding and scenic ridge hike to Hong Kong’s highest peak, with forest trails, open ridgelines, and a well-earned village feast at the end.

📍 Meeting Point: Tsuen Wan MTR — Exit B1
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM sharp
We’ll walk together to Shiu Wo Street Bus Stop.

🚌 Transport to Trailhead
🚌 Bus Route: 82
From: Shiu Wo Street, Tsuen Wan
To: Pineapple Dam (Shing Mun Reservoir)

📍 Hike starts at: Pineapple Dam
🥾 Hiking Route

Pineapple Dam → Needle Hill (針山)
Long forest climb, steady gradient — good warm-up.
Needle Hill → Grassy Hill (草山)

Open ridge walking with rolling ascents and big views.
Grassy Hill → Tai Mo Shan Peak (大帽山, 957m)
Final push to Hong Kong’s highest point — often windy and cool.
Descent → Chuen Lung Village (川龍村)

Stone paths and village trails leading to dinner spots.

Distance: ~15 km
Total Time: ~7 hours (including water & snack breaks)
Elevation Gain: ~900 m
Difficulty: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) — long and physically demanding, for regular hikers
🍽️ Optional Dinner
Choi Lung Restaurant (彩龍酒家), Chuen Lung Village
Famous for clay-pot chicken, fresh vegetables, and hearty village dishes — perfect recovery meal after a tough hike.

🚌 Return to Tsuen Wan
From Chuen Lung Village:
🚌 Bus 51 → Tsuen Wan West / Tsuen Wan area
🚌 Minibus 80 → Tsuen Wan MTR
Good frequency in the evening.

🎒 What to Bring (Important)
Proper hiking shoes (steep & rocky sections)
3 litres of water recommended
Snacks / energy bars / light lunch
Cap + sunscreen
Light jacket (cold & windy at summit)
Fully charged phone

⚠️ Safety & Group Guidelines
Long ridge hike with sustained climbs — pace yourself
Stay on marked trails, especially near summit roads
No shops after Pineapple Dam until Chuen Lung Village
If weather deteriorates, we can descend earlier via Route Twisk.
