Sunrise Hike to Lion Rock! 🌅

Hello HnT Crew!

We’re heading up the iconic Lion Rock (495m) for a night climb to watch the city wake up! 🌅 Positioned directly between Kowloon and the New Territories,

Lion Rock offers sweeping, 360-degree panoramic views over the entire Hong Kong skyline. Climbing under the stars to catch the sunrise at the summit is hands-down the ultimate way to witness HK at both night and day! 🌌🌅

• Length: ~3 km (Point-to-point)
• Difficulty: 3/5 (Steep incline with uneven stone stairs and exposed cliffside paths near the summit)
• Views: 5/5
• Time: ~1.5 hours uphill (We will start climbing around 5:00 AM to reach the ridge well before sunrise)
• Elevation Gain: ~300 m
• Supplies: No vending machines or shops along the trail. Bring all necessities with you.

⏱️ Meeting Time & Logistical Details:

• Meeting Time: 4:55 AM Sharp
• Meeting Location: Lok Fu MTR Exit A (Street level)
• 10-Minute Grace Period: Organizers will wait a maximum of 10 minutes past our designated meeting time (5:05 AM Sharp). Since sunrise waits for no one, we will move off promptly!

✅ Reminders:

• Headlamp or Flashlight (MANDATORY): The trail is completely unlit. Phone flashlights are not recommended as you need your hands free for stability.
• Bring at least 1.5L of water / electrolyte drink
• Sturdy trail running or hiking shoes (slippery rock sections near the peak)
• Layered windbreaker or jacket (it can get cold and breezy on the ridge while waiting for the sun to rise)
• High-energy snacks/breakfast for the summit
• Octopus card or cash for early morning taxis
• Good vibes and camera ready!

Participants join entirely at their own risk and are responsible for their own physical fitness, personal safety, and insurance coverage.
