La Croix de Verse from Coursegoules

On Sunday, I suggest we do this 13.5 km ridge walk on the massif du Cheiron, starting from the village of Coursegoules. With 750 m of climb it's a moderately sporty hike, but we'll take it at an easy pace and the air up there should be refreshingly cool.

For most of the route, we'll have panoramic views from the coast to the Mercantour and, since this is the less-frequented end of the mountain, we may be lucky enough to see some wildlife (marmots, chamois, vultures).

Some of the paths are steep and stony, so good shoes are essential and batons would also be useful. For other equipment, advice and general information, please see the group's front page.
