Berkeley-Rose Garden/Rose Walk Area - Julia Morgan, Bernard Maybeck, others

Walk along the picturesque winding streets and pathways of the North Berkeley Hills from Live Oak Park to Rose Walk and the Rose Garden to see heritage architecture. Five houses by Julia Morgan. Several by Bernard Maybeck along with many other famous Berkeley architects of the first halve of the 20th Century. Compare a classic pair of Julia Morgan brown shingle, arts and crafts houses to Bernard Maybeck's take on the period, directly across the street.

This is about a two to three mile walk with some steep Berkeley stair paths and slight uphills for an elev. gain of about 225' overall.

The remaining houses in this area run the gamut of architectural styles from the late 19th century into the 1920s & 30s period revival style.

We're meeting at the intersection of Shattuck Ave. & Berryman at Live Oak Park. Should be no parking restrictions on the weekend.
