Lower Thousand Oaks - Berkeley - Architecture Tour - Among the Rocks

Details
(In the photo above the house is built into the huge rock outcropping. If the owner, a very nice man, is home, he'll probably let us take a look.)
The earliest houses in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood. Among them, developer John Hopkins Spring's, honeymoon cottages, he built for his daughters. We'll start out in the scenic neighborhood between Colusa and the Arlington and walk toward the "rocky" streets, where the houses are among the huge rocks. Pretty stair paths with views of the Bay. Many types of Period Revival houses to see. (Photo above is the group in the backyard of a house on Vincente. Monument Rock shown in the photo.)
Here's a link to photos of the houses we saw on Oct.25th,2023.
About three miles over some very uneven pavement and stairs. Wear sturdy footwear. Sandals not recommended.
Option for lunch stop at Taqueria Talavera afterwards for Taco Tuesday or other suggestions.
Here's a simple link that will allow you to support the Meetup and add a thank you.
