*Don't be a No-Show and have your membership in the Group canceled. See the,*No-Show policies at the bottom.
(By not reading this entire event description you risk wasting your time and inconveniencing other members by screwing things up.)
This is one of my favorite "shuttle hikes", in that we will be hiking down the Steep Ravine Trail, starting from Pantoll Ranger Sta. and hiking, going down to the Pacific Ocean, opposite the Steep Ravine Cabins. (see photo)

We will set up the shuttle by having the cars meet at the entrance gate to Steep Ravine Cabins. (It is also where Steep Ravine Trail intersects with Hwy.1.) We will be set up the shuttle by leaving some cars here, then taking the whole group up to Pantoll Ranger Station to start the hike back down.

The nice weather is here. The clear air, in late winter and early Spring, makes the already magnificent views, even more dramatic. It seems the early wildflowers underfoot are welcoming us.
We'll sample a range of this beautiful area of varying habitats.
About five miles max., at not a fast pace. Elevation gain up to 300' up. This is a scenic hike, not an exercise hike. (Even so if you don't wear the proper footwear you risk a sprained ankle. If you don't hike that often over a long time you will use a pair of hiking boots enough to warrant buying a pair and being safer on the trails.)
We'll be stopping for a rest break and lunch. Bring something to eat and a bottle of water. A hat, sunscreen, dress in layers and a hiking pole, if you use one, remember to bring it.
Check the route GPS provides, if it routes you through Fairfax that's the very long way. Routing through one of the Mill Valley exits is correct.
Don't be late.
Leave at least a half hour or more, once you exit the freeway. Bicylists and slow drivers ahead, will delay you once off the freeway.

On the way home I love to stop at the Good Earth Natural Foods super-market at the first traffic light heading east on Shoreline Hwy. into Tam Junction it is on the right. The Chai is fabulous and they have delicious hot food. Meet there afterwards. Sitting outside is like being at a resort, surrounded by the high hills there.

*(Don't be a no-show or your membership will be canceled.) It's good to give out name tags which I always do. I fill out the name tags 24 hours before the meeting time. This also gives me a way to take attendance. Name tags that are not picked up, are recorded as no-shows. See photo below of No-show name tags for February/Early March, 2026. If you get too many no-shows recorded in your personal Meet-up profile, (only visible to the organizer) you'll be canceled from this Meetup.
To cancel your RSVP beforehand, look for the, "Edit Attendance", tab, at the bottom right hand corner of the screen on a notebook, and left bottom on a phone. --- RSVP cancellations must be at least 24 hrs. in advance of the event start time, or a no-show is recorded. [Meetup.com](http://meetup.com/) records all RSVP entries, times and changes.],
