[I set this back to Saturday because the forecast looks good enough. It's way too cold for me but at least there's no rain/snow. So, it's now fixed at Saturday and if that won't work out I'll find something else.]

This is a *day hike* to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. We'll go down early-ish on Saturday and come back that same night by headlamp. You have to be fit enough to handle a very tough hike of 16 mi RT with 5k' of gain. Expect to be out all day.

A couple weeks ago I hiked 2/3 of the way into the Grand Canyon, this time I'm going all the way and (hopefully) making it back up. Read my trip report here:

This time we're just using the South Kaibab trail, making it 16 mi RT with 5k' of gain.

Note also that someone in the Bay Area is interested in this hike but doesn't have a car. Also let me know if you can rideshare.
