320 Craft Beers...
100 Ciders & Spirits...
15 Restaurants & Food Trucks...
And Us Degens at 5 Bars.

What could possibly go wrong? Well, let's find out.

No doubt this liver-pickling-session will lead to deportations, 3somes and more-somes, streaking thru beer gardens, divorces, and somebody waking up in Queensland with a shaved eyebrow in a used, soiled BDSM bunny suit purchased off Temu.

Excited? If so, follow me to the inner-Wild-Wild-West for some damn good fun in Sydneytown.

THE HIKE.
Nope. Not this time.

THE INNER WEST ALE TRAIL.
17 Microbrews lie within a small subsection of Sydney / Marrickville area... let's choose four (read on for a fifth) and have a grand ole time. We meet at Newtown Station and enjoy a relaxed 1km walk: Newtown, a bustling part of Sydney on a Saturday morning... leads to Enmore Rd - plenty of shops and inner-westies to perve on.

Pickled Monkey Brewing Co (12pm).
"The newest addition to the Ale Trail ain’t messing about with 24 taps, cool street-side seating and loads of space inside. On site is Italian Gringo kitchen - tuck into tasty antipasto, Roman pizza sandwiches and tacos."

Sauce Brewing Co (12:50pm).
"Down a tiny lane you’ll find one of the Trail’s biggest breweries hiding round the corner. Inside its huge warehouse space, you’ll first spot Sauce’s colossal brew tanks, the bar and then the jewel in its crown: a giant beer garden that beckons like an oasis amid Marrickville’s industrial backdrop."

Philter Brewing (1:40pm)
"Award-winning beers, brash ‘80s branding and pumping multi-level venue, it’s hard to go past Philter. Once an abandoned yoghurt factory, it’s been converted into a classy, wood-panelled public bar where you can sip a schooner right by their towering brew tanks."

Hawke's Brewing (2:30pm)
"Hawke’s HQ – the award-winning Bob Hawke Beer and Leisure Centre – is like stepping back into the 1980s, just with better beer. Channelling the spirit of the late, great PM and brewery co-founder, the venue is a glorious, beautifully-designed throwback to classic Aussie RSLs – think wood panelling, honour boards, retro carpet and cricket commentary played in the toilets."

Let's kick on... After Hawke's the Sydenham Metro is just steps away - we'll zip on a 10min Metro to Barangaroo then head to my local on the water for a refreshing finish:

Sporting Globe by 4 Pines (4pm).
Sport. Mustic. Sun and sunset on the water. And great beer from a microbrew started at Manly Beach (4 Pines). If you grab my VIP card, I have 20% off all food and drinks - flash it to the bartender. David from Sydney MeetUp (of course, feel free to join his group) - a lovely host - is having his drinks there too. He hosts events with 50, 100, sometimes 200 people. Let's join in.

THE DETAILS.
A) 45minutes at each pub. No more, no less. Maybe I'll get a bell. Or a horn. How embarrassing.
B) $10 Cash Only for this event.
C) Be on time! Or, if you're late meet us at the first pub.
D) Know your limit, please? We are safe hikers, so let's be safe drinkers.
E) Do you have a favourite pub on the trail? If I missed one, let me know - I'm open to swap out X for Y or A for B.

See you soon! MJ
